Getting to Carrick-on-Shannon

By Road

By Rail

Carrick-on-Shannon is serviced by Irish Rail on the Dublin Connolly to Sligo InterCity route. 

Services run from morning to evening both ways, on average about every 2 hrs.

The train station is on the Roscommon side of the town, just a 10min walk to the town center, but in wet weather or with heavy bags you may prefer to take one of the local taxis you’ll find at the station on arrival.

By Bus

Carrick-on-Shannon is serviced by Bus Eireann (Ireland’s national bus service) between Sligo and Dublin as well as the Expressway service to Dublin Airport.
